The world’s first trillionaire

Elon Musk is poised to become the world’s first trillionaire. For scale, the federal budget is only $7 trillion. Elon Musk could completely fund Medicare or the National Defense for a year. He could completely fund the Canadian government and have $500 billion to spare. In total, there are about 100 countries that he could fund. He will have as much money as the United Kingdom.

A former poet featured on RFD TV (Baxter Black) gave a message recently from which I chose to pen some of his sentiments slightly paraphrased - - - As I write this on my front porch, I appreciate the sunlight streaming through the windows and the lovely blue sky nature and God have provided. The squirrels are on a high tree branch after a busy time of gathering nuts. They will be hunkering down soon in anticipation of winter.

‘Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it’

It’s Labor Day again, and while it’s a day off from work for many people, for most, it’s simply the end of summer. There’s no thought given to the meaning behind the United States having a holiday devoted to workers and the events that led to it. Let’s heed the warning of philosopher George Santayana, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
