To the Editor and Paulding/Oakwood Community,
A former poet featured on RFD TV (Baxter Black) gave a message recently from which I chose to pen some of his sentiments slightly paraphrased - - - As I write this on my front porch, I appreciate the sunlight streaming through the windows and the lovely blue sky nature and God have provided. The squirrels are on a high tree branch after a busy time of gathering nuts. They will be hunkering down soon in anticipation of winter.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the people who contributed to this year’s 127 Yard Sale to benefit the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry. It was a mammoth undertaking this year, with more donations than ever before, falling in a timeframe where there it seemed there was more going on in the community than ever before. As of Sunday, we had topped out at just more than $5,000, a new record, beating last year by a grand.
On Friday, February 28, 2025 I had the need to access public records regarding long deceased family members at the Paulding County Courthouse and Paulding County Carnegie Library across the street.
On November 14th I along with the rest of our neighbors learned a heartbreaking truth.
