NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship returns to Fort Wayne, Indiana for final year

FORT WAYNE, Indiana – On Tuesday, March 18, teams arrive in Fort Wayne, Indiana for the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championships held on March 20 & 22 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Fort Wayne welcomes and congratulates New York University, Trinity College, Washington University, and Wesleyan University! This week’s events include a team community service project on Wednesday, the Semifinal games on Thursday, an NABC All-Star game on Saturday, and the Championship game on Saturday – all at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Four Buckeyes honored with Big Ten Awards

COLUMBUS — The Big Ten Conference recently announced its women’s basketball awards following the conclusion of the regular season. Four Buckeyes were honored by the conference’s head coaches and media members, including graduate guard Madison Greene being named Ohio State’s Sportsmanship Honoree for the season.

Stroker Etter places 3rd at State

Stroker Etter, the Paulding sophomore wrestler, placed 3rd at the Ohio State Tournament in the 144-pound weight class. He’s the first state placer for Paulding since 2008. He finished the season with a 54-5 record.

New DC bowling program inks first signee

DEFIANCE - The new Defiance College women’s bowling team officially secured the program’s first recruit in Bryan High School senior Ashley Grymonprez, who signed her letter of intent on Wednesday.

Kimmel, Etter and Pumphrey advance to OHSAA State Wrestling tournament

March 4, 2025

Local wrestlers competed at the Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio for the district tournament for the opportunity to advance to the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Corbin Kimmel, Thor (Stroker) Etter, and Karmen Johnson took position on the podium after the competition. Corbin Kimmel, the 120-pound senior from Wayne Trace, ended as the district runner-up for his weight class. Stroker Etter, the 144-pound sophomore from Paulding, also ended as his weight class runner-up. Kamren Johnson, the 132-pound senior from Antwerp, completed his district tournament in fifth place.

Panther rally comes up short to Blue Streaks

NAPOLEON – An Archbold defense that limited Paulding to six points each in the middle two quarters made enough plays down the stretch to hold off the Panthers for a 52-47 victory in Division V boys district basketball action at Napoleon Thursday evening.

On February 21, 2025, three wrestlers from the Wayne Trace Girls Wrestling Team competed at the Girls Sectionals tournament in Findlay. In the tournament, the top four placers of each weight class advance to the Girls District tournament on March 2, 2025.
