TIFFIN – Antwerp’s Kamren Johnson and Paulding’s Max Daeger each saw their season come to a close in the Division III regional cross country meet at Tiffin as both wrapped up outstanding years.

BLUFFTON – Noah Bricker returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a score and the Bluffton Pirates never looked back in posting a 21-6 win over Paulding Friday night in Division VI, Region 22 high school football action.
MILLER CITY – The high school volleyball season came to a close for Paulding County last week as the Paulding Panthers dropped a straight set decision to Ottawa Glandorf in district action at Miller City High School.
The Green Meadows Conference recently released its list of fall sports scholar athletes with 97 students across the league being recognized.Tinora led the way with 23 honorees while Paulding had 15 with Hicksville and Wayne Trace each totaling 14.

BLUFFTON – Noah Bricker returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a score and the Bluffton Pirates never looked back in posting a 21-6 win over Paulding Friday night in Division VI, Region 22 high school football action.Bricker’s touchdown and the extra point kick by Jackson Brauen gave Bluffton an early 7-0 advantage, a lead the Pirates never gave up.With Bluffton on top 7-0 at the end of one quarter, it was the host Pirates who added to the margin in the second stanza.Tayte Giesige found Griffin Stackhouse on a 15-yard scoring strike in the period as Bluffton widened the lead to 14-0 at the midway point of the contest.The Pirates then put the game away in the third quarter as Parker Lovell broke free from the Paulding defense on an eight-yard scamper for a touchdown that, combined with Brauen’s conversion kick, made it 21-0.Paulding’s lone score came in the final stanza when quarterback Colten Hunt connected with Kane Jones on a four-yard touchdown pass to make the final score 21-6.Hunt finished the night 22 of 37 through the air for the maroon and white, throwing for 189 yards overall.Blake Rhonehouse picked up six receptions covering 55 yards and Jordan Manz recorded six catches totaling 40 yards for the maroon and white.
ANTWERP – The Paulding Panthers clinched a state playoff berth for the second straight year Friday night as the maroon and white rolled to a 46-6 victory over Antwerp in Green Meadows Conference football action.
After leading his team to a seven win season, Paulding’s Jack Woods was named Green Meadows Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year to lead county players on the all-league squads.
