WT wins GMC match

BY KEVIN WANNEMACHER CherryRoad Correspondent PAYNE – Wayne Trace played five players below 40 Thursday night at Pleasant Valley Golf Course as the Raiders cruised to a 146-175 win over Ayersville. Brody Rosswurm led the way for the red, white and blue with a 34 while Kyle Sutton and Connor Davis both recorded 37’s for the Raiders.

Week 3 – Panthers stay unbeaten

PAULDING – The Paulding Panthers wrapped up a perfect non-league portion of the schedule with a 27-2 victory over Delphos Jefferson Friday night in high school football action at Keysor Field. The Panthers, who have outscored opponents 119-2 in the first three weeks, totaled 325 yards of offense against the Wildcats while giving up just 77 yards.

Panthers stay unbeaten

PAULDING – The Paulding Panthers returned to Keysor Field Friday night to host North Central from Williams County and the game was dominated by the maroon and white, scoring early and often in a 58-0 blanking of the visiting Eagles. Also in Paulding County Friday night, Wayne Trace saw a late lead disappear in the final minute as the Raiders fell to Spencerville 28-27 while Antwerp dropped a 55-6 decision to Edon.

Runners stay busy on weekend

All three county schools saw cross country action over the weekend as teams took part in meets in Wood and Putnam Counties. Wayne Trace took part in the Mel Brodt High School Cross Country Invitational at Bowling Green State University On the boys side, Eli Treece led the Raiders with a time of 18:18.30 (80th) and Jaxson Cook posted a time of 20:11 (177th).
