DEFIANCE – Tori Young shot a score of 97 and Ella Crosby added a 100 to lead the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders to a sixth-place finish in the Defiance Girls Golf Invitational at Eagle Rock Golf Course Thursday.
WAUSEON – The Miller City Wildcats put a trio of players under 80 and rolled to the team championship at the Wauseon Indian Boys Golf Invitational Monday at Ironwood Golf Course. The Putnam County squad posted a 318 to win the tournament while Montpelier took second at 338 and Wauseon finished third with a 356.
VAN WERT – Hayden Dowler shot a 38 and Keaton Foster posted a 39 to lead the Van Wert Cougars to a 161-169 win over Wayne Trace in boys golf action at Willow Bend Country Club Monday evening. Griff McCracken added a 40 for the Cougars and Carter Wright posted a 44.
OTTAWA – Wayne Trace posted a solid second place finish in the Kalida Boys Golf Invitational Wednesday at Moose Landing Country Club as the Raiders were nipped by Ottawa Hills by eight strokes for the team championship.
CELINA – The Wayne Trace Lady Raider golf team made the trip to the Celina Lynx Golf Club on Friday as the red, white and blue took part in the Celina Girls Golf Invitational. Ella Crosby paced the way for the red, white and blue with a round of 92 to help Wayne Trace record a third-place finish in the team standings.
The issue of concussions in high school sports has garnered increasing attention as awareness grows about the long-term effects of head injuries. With contact sports such as football, soccer and wrestling being popular among high school athletes, the need for effective concussion management protocols and preventative measures has never been more critical.
VAN WERT – Matthew Dealey of Crestview recorded a 35 to lead the Knights to a tri-match win over both Lincolnview and Paulding in boys golf action at Hickory Sticks Golf Course outside of Van Wert. The Knights finished with a 171 while the Lancers took second at 178 and the Panthers placed third with a 182.
