PAYNE – The second round of Green Meadows Conference boys and girls golf matches were held Thursday with Tinora posting victories in both matches on the evening.
The Lady Archers were outmatched against visiting Crestview Thursday night, but gave a valiant effort, showing strength in their defensive efforts. Ultimately, the Knights dominated the offense.
DELPHOS — Paulding (4-1) continued its strong start to the season Thursday night, sweeping Jefferson (2-3) 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 in non-conference volleyball action.
ANTWERP – The Antwerp football team won the battle of first downs and total yardage but the Archers came up short on the scoreboard as Montpelier posted a 24-16 victory in the high school football season opener Friday evening.
PAYNE – Konnor Wannemacher shot a 37 to lead the Wayne Trace boys golf team to the championship of the Wayne Trace Boys Golf Invitational Thursday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course outside of Payne.
PAULDING – The Paulding Panthers opened the 2025 high school football season in style Friday night as the maroon and white rolled to a 55-0 victory over Swanton.
In the Jungle, the Lady Panthers showed their mettle against the visiting Pettisville Blackbirds Thursday night. They swept all three sets, beating the visiting team 25-19, 25-21 and 25-18.
VAN WERT — Led by a wealth of powerful servers and strong hitters, Paulding cruised by Van Wert 25-8, 25-11, 25-9 Monday evening in the season opening volleyball match for both teams.

In 2024, approximately 540,000 student-athletes participated in National Collegiate Athletic Association sports across the United States. More than 14,000 Canadian students participate in the U Sports system, which is the national governing body for university sport, and additionally around 3,160 Canadians participate in the NCAA, including in Division I sports.
