Donna Jane Becker (Van Scoder) departed this world and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at roughly 6:00pm. She passed away from complications of congestive heart failure and vascular dementia at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was 72 years old.
Though originally from Junction in Paulding County, Ohio, she lived the last 19 years in the Jamestown area with her second husband, Chester Miller. The last two years of her life were spent living in Xenia, Ohio under the care and guardianship of her beloved son, Blake Becker.
Donna was a feisty, sassy woman of God who loved her family immensely and who always spoke her mind. She spent most of her adulthood working in various businesses of her first husband, Jeffrey Becker, as well as Time Warner Cable and CBSI/Martin Marietta. She spent several years of her retired life caring for her grandchildren. She loved music and often encouraged the musical talents of her two sons, Jeffrey and Blake Becker. She participated in Music Ministry with her son, Blake. She often performed “There Is A River” by Jimmy Swaggert as a special music in the churches she attended in her adulthood. She also loved Electric Light Orchestra. Her favorite E.L.O. song was “Don’t Bring Me Down.”
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Guy VanScoder & Amy Vanscoder (Font), and first husband Jeffery Becker. Donna is survived by her younger son and daughter-in-law, Blake Becker and Susan Becker (Holland) and 3 grandchildren Parker, Elijah and Hannah Becker, elder son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Becker and Debbie Becker (Wingate) and granddaughter Jocelin Becker, second husband Chester Miller, sister and brother-in-law Patty Rogers (Van Scoder) and Mike Rogers, brother and sister-in-law Mike Van Scoder and Wanda Van Scoder (Fillman), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donna has chosen to be cremated. Her family will be holding a memorial service January 11, 2025 at noon. The Memorial Service with a meal to follow will be held at Mt. Zion Church at 428 Shepherd Road, Beavercreek Township, Ohio 45385.
