PAULDING, OH – James R. “Jim” Myers, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.

James was born on February 12, 1948 in Defiance, OH to the late Richard F. and Pauline W. (Michael) Myers. On November 2, 1968 he married L. Gail Hart, who survives. James worked for LaFarge for 45 years until his retirement in 2013. He was also a self-employed farmer all of his life and loved to share his passion for farming with anyone he met. He was known for his work ethic and taking on the hard tasks. He was very involved in FFA during his high school years and loved hunting, barbecuing  and setting off fireworks. He was a member of Paulding United Methodist Church. Above all, family was most important to him, especially his grandkids. 

Along with his loving wife, Gail, James will be missed by his son, James R. “Jamey” (Erin) Myers, Jr., Avon Lake, OH; daughters: Amy (Brian) Davis, Melrose, OH; Heather (Jon) Rupard, Phoenix, AZ; Lacey (Josaiah) Holland, Springfield, OH; 10 grandchildren; his beloved dog, Coco.

James is also preceded in death by his daughter, Jessie Johanna Myers; sisters, Joann Price and Jenny Sue Myers. 

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Paulding V.F.W. Post 587. 

Memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
