PAULDING, OH: John Henry Kauser, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Paulding County Hospital, surrounded by his family.
John Henry was born on August 4, 1940, in Paulding, OH, to the late John A. and Anna (Fulk) Kauser. On October 18, 1958, he married Frances “Shortie” Howell, who preceded him in death on November 3, 2002. On December 20, 2003, John Henry married Anna (Howell) Rodefeld, who survives. John Henry wasthe owner/operator and retired President of Kauser Trucking, Inc. He was a loyal member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as a council member. He was inducted into the Paulding High School Athletic Hall of Fame, he was a part of the undefeated 1958 Paulding High School football team, a past regional Vice President of the American Truck Historical Society, a lifetime member of the Paulding County History Museum, a lifetime member of the National Automotive and Truck Museum in Auburn, IN, a member of Gleaners, and a Golden Eagle with the Paulding Eagles Aerie 2405. John Henry also served on many boards, including the State Bank and Trust Advisory Board, the Paulding County Carnegie Library Board, the Paulding County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and the Paulding County Planning Commission. John Henry had a love for antique trucks, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and his beloved Paulding Panthers.
Along with his wife, Anna, John Henry will be lovingly missed by his children: Jill (David) Evans, Concord, MI; Joan (Mike) Mapes, Paulding, OH: Mike (Cindy) Kauser, Paulding, OH; Brad (Ann Schmidt) Kauser, Paulding, OH; Brett (Heidi) Kauser, Paulding, OH; stepchildren: Lori Masters, Fremont, IN; Melissa (Paul) Allen, Vincennes, IN; Jim (Almeda) Burkhart, Fremont, IN; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one on the way.
He is also preceded in death by his two sisters, Eileen Geyer and Marjorie Mathias.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Clyde Singh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding Township.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation on Monday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
