PAULDING – Karen M. Baughman, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at her home in Paulding, surrounded by her loved ones.
Karen was born on January 17, 1948 in Paulding County, OH to the late Ervin and Jeannette (Brown) Paxton. On July 20, 1968 she married Robert Baughman, who survives. Karen spent her life creating a loving home for her family and helping Bob run Baughman’s Beautiful Acres (Woodbridge Campground). After her children were grown, she worked at Ranchland Laundry in Defiance. She loved polka dancing and square dancing. Most of all, her love of her family outweighed all. She loved following her grandchildren’s activities and vacations with her family, especially in Tennessee. Karen was a devoted member of Rose Hill Church of God.
Along with her loving husband, Bob, Karen will be missed by her children: Kristine (Kevin) Stuart, Paulding, OH; Stacy (Robert) Ross, Haviland, OH; Rebecca (Eric) Bielser, Payne, OH; Teresa (Kenneth) Buchanan, Bryan, OH; Brenda (Willhelm) Ruder, Antwerp, OH; Steven (Melinda) Baughman, Woodburn, IN; Jessica (Stormy) Doctor, Paulding, OH; sister, Betty (Dick) Baker, Sherwood, OH; 19 grandchildren: Michele (Austin) Carder, Michael (Kayla) Stuart, Emily Workman, Dawn (Ruben) Workman, Janelle (Miguel) Arrizola, Lynn Wells, Anna Wells, Brooke Wells, Domynyque Bielser, Brandon Buchanan, Johnathon (Anna) Buchanan, Andrew Yates, Evan (Hannah) Baughman, Caleb Baughman, Joshua Valadez, Rain Moon, Dillion Doctor, Nolan Doctor, Jessie Doctor; 13 great grandchildren: Parker, Nolan, Oaklynn, Haylin, Sam, Isabella, Riley, Raven, Octavia, Harley, Anderson, Aelis, Avalyn.
Karen was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dale, Clair, and infant Paul Paxton; sister, Reba Jean Luderman.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Rose Hill Church of God with Pastor Ron Hofacker officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Jackson Township, OH.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Monday at the church.
