Margaret “Peggy” Mary Klender, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Grey Stone Health and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.
Peggy was born in Fort Wayne on March 19, 1933, to the late Halden “Charlie” and Gladys (Scott) Lutz.
She attended Paulding Exempted Village Schools. On January 21, 1950, Peggy married Paul Klender. She worked at Kammeyer’s IGA for several years and retired from the Paulding County Carnegie Library. She was a member of the Antwerp Global Methodist Church, Crane Farm Women’s Club, Cecil Community, and Pomona Granges. Peggy was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, canning, tending to flowers, cooking, and collecting recipes. Above all, she loved celebrations with her family.
Peggy will be sadly missed by her daughters, Connie (Steve) Rose of Fort Wayne; Judy Dulaney of Columbus; Cheryl Parrish of Antwerp; & Laura (Todd) Muzzillo of Huntertown; grandchildren, Sarah (Andy) Finnegan; Jason (Michelle) Rose, Kari (Kevin) Cogdell; Jennifer (James Pettry) Dulaney, Jeremy (Jeri) Dulaney, Julie (Bob Reid) Dulaney, Landon Muzzillo, & Giana Muzzillo; great grandchildren, Dexter, Josey, Emme, Weston, Simon, Jesse, Jackson, Gabe, Isaac, & Oliver; & sister, Shirley Hermes.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul on December 19, 2014; her parents; sisters, Donna Lutz, Maxine Whitney, & Joyce Handwork; & sons-in-law, Richard Parrish, Jr. & James Dulaney.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Antwerp Manor, Grey Stone Health and Rehab, & Paradigm Health for their care and kindness shown to Peggy during her stay.
Service was Saturday, July 19th at 11 AM with viewing from 9:30-11 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
Peggy will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Cecil.
