Music store on the rebound

LIMA—Groamy’s CDs and Tapes, Allen County’s music store since 1992 is down but not out. Since an early morning fire fire gutted the building on the 1200 block of Robb Avenue on January 12, owner Eugene Frueh (aka Groamy) has been working hard to re-open in time for National Record Store Day—April 20, 2025.

Diamond Distributors, at one time a monopoly force in the retail comic book industry, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. While the company may come out of this if it finds a buyer, it likely will never enjoy the dominance it once did. That is a good thing.
