I just wanted to thank the entire community for turning out to donate—and then buy—the countless items for sale at the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry’s 127 Yard Sale. As a community (for we surely couldn’t have done it without all of your contributions), we raised just over $4,000 for the pantry. Money comes from item and refreshment sales and space rentals in our parking lot (think about it for next year), as well as just plain old, monetary donations during the event.
On July 30th, the president signed our new law: the AllAmerican Flag Act. Until now, the flags flown at military installations and government buildings, and even the flags that, tragically, are given to families of fallen service members, were not required to be completely made in America.
WED. AUG.
PAYNE – In a boys high school golf tri-match, visiting Lincolnview picked up victories over both Fairview and Wayne Trace Friday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course outside of Payne. The Lancers totaled a 174 as a squad, led by Chayse Overholt, Boston Bailey and Lucas Grubb with a 43 each.
WOODBURN – The annual boys high school golf season opener took place Thursday at Pond-A-River Golf Course outside of Woodburn as the Green Meadows Conference recorded a 2411 victory in match play against the Buckeye Border Conference.
DEFIANCE – Kyle Sutton shot a tournament best round of 70 to lead the Wayne Trace Raiders to a second-place finish in the Defiance Citizens National Bank Boys Golf Invitational at Eagle Rock Golf Course Monday afternoon.
