Paulding Exempted Village Schools held their annual staff appreciation breakfast on May 14, 2025. During the breakfast, eleven retirees were recognized and given a personalized crock, handcrafted by Sandy Dobbelaere.

Ilah Zimmerman named READ On! Ohio Award for Children & Teens

At its statewide conference and Awards Celebration, the Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA), Ohio’s professional association for K-12 school librarians, will recognize the recipients of the 2025 READ On! Ohio Award for Children & Teens. The award celebrates enthusiastic readers nominated by school and public librarians in the following categories: primary (K-2); intermediate (3-5); middle (6-8); and high (9-12) and regions: SE, SW, NE, and NW. This year marks the eleventh year READ Onl Ohio has been awarded.

Ohio State Lima presents Town and Gown Award to Dr. Mark Kleffner

Dr. Mark Kleffner is the 2025 recipient of the Ohio State University at Lima’s Violet I. Meek Town and Gown Award. Kleffner will receive his award at a ceremony scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the G. Gilbert Cloyd Commons on the lower level of Galvin Hall.

Meuleman speaks to Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Paulding County was privileged to have Charity Meuleman (Defiance/Paulding Consolidated Job & Family Services) as the guest speaker at the May 8, 2025 club meeting. Charity came at the invitation of Corey Walker (Director, Paulding County Carnegie Library). Charity spoke to the Kiwanians about the need for Foster Families in Defiance and Paulding County Ohio and how to become a foster parent. Charity discussed the importance of fostering and how it can be life changing for families in time of need and struggle.
