Dianna S. Goodwin 1963-2025

PAULDING – Dianna S. Goodwin, 61, of Paulding, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Paulding County Hospital. She was born on September 9, 1963, in Lima to the late Lester and Louise (Miner) Branham. On October 18, 2010, she married Tim Goodwin, he survives in Paulding.

Marjorie Louise Phlipot 1932-2025

PAULDING, OH: Marjorie Louise (Hummel) Phlipot, 92, passed away on Saturday, April 5 at Country Inn Enhanced Living, Paulding, OH. She was born on December 11, 1932, to Noel and Priscilla (Parson) Hummel. On September 30, 1950, she married Howard R. Phlipot, who preceded her in death on August 15, 1999.

Paulding FFA celebrates its 98th annual FFA Banquet

On Saturday, April 6th, 2025 the Paulding FFA chapter held its 98th Annual FFA Banquet. Several people attended the banquet including community, alumni, and staff members. There were 375 people who attended the banquet. The theme for this year’s banquet was “Country Roads take me Home.”

EDGERTON – The high school track season opened up Tuesday night with the Antwerp girls recording a tri-meet victory over Edgerton and Hilltop while the Bulldog boys placed first.

DELPHOS – In non-league softball action Friday evening, the Paulding Panthers doubled up host Delphos Jefferson for a 14-7 victory over the Wildcats at Delphos Jefferson High School.

Bulldogs pull away late from Panthers

DEFIANCE – Host Defiance broke open a close game with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull away for a 9-1 victory over visiting Paulding Friday evening in non-conference baseball play.

Soil Health and Corn Research

A new trend emerged at the CTTC conference last month. At least one third of presentations had soil health, regenerative farming, or cover crops in the title. A big change in farming practices started with soil and health and cover crops from 2010-2020, but that trend has slowed down. Was it just a fad?

Lady Raiders basketball team recognized

The Wayne Trace Girls Basketball Team and Head Coach Bethany DeJarnett was recently recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives and State Representative Roy Klopfenstein of the 82nd District. The Lady Raiders were presented Proclamations by the Ohio House of Representatives recognizing the squad for its Green Meadows Conference championship and Sectional Championship as well as DeJarnett was honored for recording her 200th victory as head coach in the sectional championship win over Riverdale.
