Phyllis Jean Bidlack 1932-2024

OAKWOOD – Phyllis Jean (Wagner) Bidlack, 92, of Oakwood, passed away peacefully with family members near on Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born October 19,1932 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Theordore and Leona (Meyers) Wagner. On February 6, 1955, she married William (Bill) Bidlack, who preceded her in death on December 15, 2020, after 65 years of marriage.

Survivors include three children: Bruce Bidlack, Harker Heights, TX, Marleen (Arthur) Barrett, Lake Zurich, IL and Robert Bidlack, Paulding, OH; eight grandchildren: Christopher (Samantha), Donovan (Aurelia), Colton, Treanna, Marlisa (Dylan) Wiley, Riley, AJ (Maryn) Barrett, Jaquelyn (Jose) Arauz; 4 great-grandchildren: Sophie, William, Harper, and Hansen; a sibling, Barbara (Bill) Burson, Xenia OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis spent her life investing in others through service and relationships. She was a school bus driver for 30 years to both the public school and the PC workshop. Phyllis established the Oakwood Library and was a member of the Oakwood Community Church where she coordinated the food pantry, was on the District UMW council, and served in many other roles including leading short-term mission trips. She was the advisor to the Paulding County Farm Bureau Youth Council and to the Oakwood Community 4-H club.

The family would like to thank the staff of Vancrest of Payne, for the kind care they gave to Phyllis during the time she lived there.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, 610 Walnut Street, Oakwood and 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Oakwood Community Church, 201 E. Harmon St., Oakwood, OH followed by a 2:00 p.m. service and then burial at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood.
