PAULDING, OH: Richard A. Freiburger, age 68, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Richard was born on December 3, 1956 in Pontiac, MI to the late Henry and Betty (Wisterman) Freiburger. On July 6, 1985 he married the love of his life, Brenda, who survives. Richard worked for General Motors truck plant in Fort Wayne until his retirement in 2011. After his retirement, he worked with the Amish and helped his son with his landscaping business. Richard enjoyed wrestling, coloring on his phone, watching his TV shows (on full volume), and a few glasses of milk with Oreos. He never knew a stranger and would help anyone in need.
Along with his wife, Brenda, Richard is survived by his children: Autumn (John) McCain, Fort Wayne, IN; Kyle (Amanda) Hicks, Paulding, OH; Michael (Angie) Hicks, Fort Wayne, IN; William (Hope) Freiburger, Fort Wayne, IN; brothers: Clyde (Chris) Freiburger; Arthur (Chris) Freiburger; sister, Gloria (Harry) Harding; sister-in-laws, Virginia Freiburger; Jackie (Bruce) Hampton; Linda (Matt) Fink; grandchildren: Harleyann (Bailey) McCain, Chase (Mickaya) Hicks, Kellin (Hannah) McCain, Mia McCain, Christian Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Kaylynn Freiburger, Cecilia Hicks, Austin Hicks, Legend Breckler, Damon Webb, Marlo Webb, Danica Webb, Katelynn Gerbers, Trinity Gerbers, Alexis Myers, Taye Kepney; great grandchildren: M’Lani Hicks, Damien Kepney, De’Asia Kepney; scores of nieces, nephews, and adopted children; beloved dogs: Zoe, Buddy, and Hank; beloved bird, Jazmine.
Richard is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle Wisterman, Myron Freiburger, and Francis Freiburger; brother-in-law, Michael Hampton.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home. Lunch will follow at the Paulding VFW Post 587, 214 N Water St., Paulding, OH.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Saturday.
