PAULDING, OH: Rose Marie Holtsberry, age 77, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Vancrest of Payne. 

Rose was born on June 8, 1947, in Paulding, OH, to the late Carl and Saralene (Frey) Ashton. On June 20, 1965, she married the love of her life, Rodger L. Holtsberry. Rose graduated from Blue Creek High School in 1965. She worked at the Paulding County Home and then as a nurse aide at Hometown Nursing Home until her retirement. Rose was a member of Paulding United Methodist Church, where she was very active in the women’s group and Vacation Bible School. Rose will be lovingly remembered for her freshly baked cookies and her love of Pepsi. 

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Rodger Holtsberry, Paulding, OH; children: Chris (Brian) Hupp, Delaware, OH; Kim (Dave) Johnson, Baltimore, OH; Kelly (Neal) Stouffer, Payne, OH; Brad (Jennifer) Holtsberry, Swanton, OH; grandchildren: Megan and Joel Hupp; Abby, Kyle, and Rory Johnson; Matthew, Jacob, Luke, and Emma Stouffer; Julianne and Michael Holtsberry; sisters: Janet Fleenor, Arlene (Richard) Grandstaff, Darlene Bird, Brenda (Robin) Faust. 

Rose was also preceded in death by her sister, Barb Hire. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Den Herder Funeral Home, with Rev. David Dignal officiating. Burial will follow in Hedges Cemetery, Jackson Township.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s memory to Vancrest of Payne activities and therapy departments or  Lifewise of Paulding or Wayne Trace.
