Antwerp’s varsity team put an end to a three-game losing streak with a win on the road against Hilltop, 67-55.
The Archers struggled to keep up with the Panthers in a varsity game on their home court. They were outscored by the cross-county rival in every quarter, seeing a final score of 53-41.

ANTWERP – Friday night was the girls high school basketball season opener in Paulding County where Hilltop took an early lead and never looked back in posting a 60-42 victory over Antwerp.The visiting Cadets jumped in front in the opening eight minutes of the season, taking an 18-5 lead at the end of one period.Hilltop extended the margin in the second quarter, picking up thirteen points compared to eleven for the Archers in widening the gap to 31-16 at the intermission.The Williams County squad then put the game away in the third quarter, adding nineteen markers while limiting Antwerp to a dozen to take a 50-28 lead into the final stanza.Caroline Rohrs led the way for Antwerp with seventeen points while Raeley Franklin chipped in eight markers.Eliana Hormann and Clara Rohrs both bucketed five points for the Lady Archers followed by Mara Phlipot (three), Briley Bagley (two) and Madisyn Peters (two).Libbie Baker topped all players in the contest with a game high thirty-two points for Hilltop with Eleana Van Arsdalen and Molly Dickinson both scoring eight markers.Kennedy Bailey chipped in seven points for the Lady Cadets while Sophia Crossgrove finished with five points.
