DEFIANCE – The girls' golf season in Paulding County was extended at least another week on Tuesday as Wayne Trace punched its ticket to the district with a third-place finish in the sectional at Auglaize Golf Course.
Wayne Trace Senior Girls Golfer Raegan McGarvey was named the Green Meadows Conference Player of the Year by finishing atop the points standings for the 2025 season. McGarvey shot a 39 in the first GMC match of the year before posting a 40 in the second GMC match of the season. The Lady Raider senior then wrapped up the first place finish with a score of 92 at Tuesday’s Green Meadows Conference tournament to defeat second place golfer Adelaida Gill of Tinora 171-174 for the season.
PAYNE – Konnor Wannemacher shot a 37 to lead the Wayne Trace boys golf team to the championship of the Wayne Trace Boys Golf Invitational Thursday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course outside of Payne.
WOODBURN – Wayne Trace senior Reagan McGarvey took match medalist honors at the Green Meadows Conference girls golf match Tuesday at Pond-A-River Golf Course in leading the Lady Raiders to a first-place finish.
CELINA – Wayne Trace’s girls and boys golf teams hit the road on Friday as the Lady Raiders took part in the Celina Invitational while the Raider boys played Lincolnview in Van Wert.
PAYNE – Wayne Trace opened the 2025 dual match portion of the 2025 boys high school golf season on Friday with a 168-201 win over Fairview at Pleasant Valley Golf Course outside of Payne.
DEFIANCE – A dozen high school girls golf teams met up at Auglaize Golf Course outside of Defiance Friday for the Defiance Elks Girls Golf Invitational with Archbold capturing the team title and St. Marys placing second.
The University of Northwestern Ohio is excited to announce the hiring of Phil Gunder as the new Head Coach of Women’s Golf effective immediately. Gunder becomes just the third full-time head coach in the program’s history taking over from Interim Head Coach Scott Millsaps who led the team for the 2024-25 season.
COLUMBUS — The golf season began Monday for member schools of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), which marked the OHSAA’s 120th year for interscholastic athletics in Ohio. All other fall sports begin practice next Friday, August 1, with the regular-season start dates listed below.
