Northwest State Community College Foundation presents $1,051,000 check to Board of Trustees

ARCHBOLD, OHIO – The Northwest State Community College Board of Trustees met in regular session on Thursday, June 26th at the Archbold campus. After roll call, Robbin Wilcox, NSCC Executive Director for Development & NSCC Foundation, and Foundation Board Chair Peter Beck presented the Board with a check in the amount of $1,051,000. The money is designated for student scholarships, equipment, outreach programs and student support efforts.

Northwest State’s gaming and pop culture convention ‘Game Con’ to return June 14

ARCHBOLD, Ohio – Northwest State Community College is bringing back Game Con, “the premier pop culture convention,” on Saturday, June 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The convention is run by Northwest State and NSCC Thunder, the college’s official Esports team. The event is free to attend, and all ages are welcome.

NSCC to host summer camps for students of all ages!

ARCHBOLD, Ohio – Northwest State Community College will host a series of hands-on summer STEM camps for learners of all ages, beginning on June 9 with Tinker Camp. The camp season will wrap up on July 16. This year’s summer camp subjects include many of Northwest State’s academic divisions, including Custom Training Solutions (CTS), Arts & Sciences and Nursing & Allied Health, and Business & Public Service. All camps will be hosted at the Archbold campus, and campers can expect fun, hands-on learning activities as part of their action-packed camps.

Northwest State Community College Board of Trustees elects new officers

Archbold, Ohio – The Northwest State Community College Board of Trustees met in regular session on Friday, February 21st at the Archbold campus. As part of the meeting’s agenda, the Board elected its new Chair, Vice Chair and Second Vice Chair for the period of February 2025 to February 2026. Katrina DeGroff (Fulton County) was elected Chair, Mickey Schwarzbek (Defiance County) was elected Vice Chair, and Joel Miller (Henry County) was elected as Second Vice Chair by the Board. NSCC President Dr. Todd Hernandez offered remarks of gratitude for Sandra Barber, who served as Chair for the 2024-2025 period, for her ongoing dedication and years of service to the College.
