New bipartisan bills in the Ohio Legislature would provide a $2,000 tax credit to working Ohioans who care for family members at home.
A refundable child tax credit aimed at helping families with young children was proposed in Gov. DeWine’s budget but was stripped out by the Ohio House.
S.B. 109, a bill that would provide free breakfast and lunch to public and chartered nonpublic Ohio school students, currently sits in the Senate’s Finance Committee amid the state budget process.
COLUMBUS, Ohio –The County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) would like to thank the Ohio House of Representatives for preserving many of Governor DeWine’s initiatives in children’s services, child welfare placement cost transparency, regional crisis stabilization centers, indigent defense delivery, increasing the Local Government Fund, and others. Additionally, the House further strengthened the state-county partnership through targeted investments in indigent defense reimbursement to counties, and 9-1-1 funding.
