
Volleyball teams close out seasons

Senior Paige Gamby of league champion Tinora was voted the Green Meadows Conference Volleyball Player of the Year in voting by the league’s coaches recently.

Regular season volleyball wrapped up last week with both Paulding and Wayne Trace picking up victories heading into tournament action.

PAULDING - Ottoville's Big Green made the trip to the Jungle to face off against the Lady Panthers. Paulding was coming in with a six-game winning streak that looked to be in jeopardy after the first set, where Paulding's only lead was after the first point. Ottoville went on to dominate the set and win 18-25.

Paulding High School junior Estie Pease passed 1,000 assists in her high school career.

PAULDING – All three Paulding County volleyball teams picked up victories last week as the squads move through Green Meadows Conference action and get ready for Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament play next month.

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The wins continue to come for the Defiance Yellow Jackets volleyball program as the team endured a five-set win over the Lourdes Gray Wolves (25-17, 26-16, 18-25, 21-25, 15-13) for the team’s seventh straight win.

HAVILAND — Crestview dominated from start to finish in a 25-7, 25-15, 25-13 win over Wayne Trace Thursday. The Lady Knights are now 3-2, the Lady Raiders 0-5.

The Lady Archers were outmatched against visiting Crestview Thursday night, but gave a valiant effort, showing strength in their defensive efforts. Ultimately, the Knights dominated the offense.

PAYNE – Konnor Wannemacher shot a 37 to lead the Wayne Trace boys golf team to the championship of the Wayne Trace Boys Golf Invitational Thursday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course outside of Payne.
