HAVILAND – The Wayne Trace Raiders swept the team championships at the 48th annual Wayne Trace Track Invitational Thursday night at Raider Field.
Throughout the spring, the art students at Wayne Trace High School have been extremely busy showcasing their work around the region. In the Scholastic Art Show which just wrapped up at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, six Raiders exhibited pieces. Senior Luke Stouffer received a Gold Key and a Silver Key, Junior Axel Bidlack received a Gold Key, Senior Fern Jackson received a Silver Key and an Honorable Mention, Senior Aiden Lee received a Silver Key, Junior Natalie Richie received an Honorable Mention, and sophomore Boston Font received an Honorable Mention. Senior Aiden Lee was also one of only six artists in the entire Northeast Indiana/Northwest Ohio Region to have his portfolio selected for recognition, receiving a Silver Key for his series of works.
DEFIANCE – The Eisenhart Invitational kicked off the high school track invitational season on Saturday where the host Tinora boys nipped Wayne Trace for the team championship.
HAVILAND – Wayne Trace opened up its defense of the Green Meadows Conference baseball championship from a season ago as the Raiders blanked county rival Paulding 15-0 to open league play last week.
PAULDING - During a morning of heavy storms, juniors and seniors from Paulding County’s three High Schools and home-schooled students explored county businesses and area colleges. The showcase was put together by Paulding County Economic Development (PCED). The Paulding Progress was privileged to be there to talk to students interested in journalism.
The Wayne Trace Girls Basketball Team and Head Coach Bethany DeJarnett was recently recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives and State Representative Roy Klopfenstein of the 82nd District. The Lady Raiders were presented Proclamations by the Ohio House of Representatives recognizing the squad for its Green Meadows Conference championship and Sectional Championship as well as DeJarnett was honored for recording her 200th victory as head coach in the sectional championship win over Riverdale.
NEW BREMEN – Wayne Trace hit the road for a long trip to New Bremen Friday in non-conference baseball play with the Raiders bringing home a 6-4 win over the host Cardinals.
