PAULDING - During a morning of heavy storms, juniors and seniors from Paulding County’s three High Schools and home-schooled students explored county businesses and area colleges. The showcase was put together by Paulding County Economic Development (PCED). The Paulding Progress was privileged to be there to talk to students interested in journalism.
The Wayne Trace Girls Basketball Team and Head Coach Bethany DeJarnett was recently recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives and State Representative Roy Klopfenstein of the 82nd District. The Lady Raiders were presented Proclamations by the Ohio House of Representatives recognizing the squad for its Green Meadows Conference championship and Sectional Championship as well as DeJarnett was honored for recording her 200th victory as head coach in the sectional championship win over Riverdale.
NEW BREMEN – Wayne Trace hit the road for a long trip to New Bremen Friday in non-conference baseball play with the Raiders bringing home a 6-4 win over the host Cardinals.

OTTOVILLE — The Ottoville Lady Green (1-3) struggled to keep pace with a surging Wayne Trace (1-3) squad Monday evening, falling 16-0 in a five-inning contest.

Local wrestlers competed at the Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio for the district tournament for the opportunity to advance to the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Corbin Kimmel, Thor (Stroker) Etter, and Karmen Johnson took position on the podium after the competition. Corbin Kimmel, the 120-pound senior from Wayne Trace, ended as the district runner-up for his weight class. Stroker Etter, the 144-pound sophomore from Paulding, also ended as his weight class runner-up. Kamren Johnson, the 132-pound senior from Antwerp, completed his district tournament in fifth place.

The Wayne Trace Jr/Sr High School is performing “Elf The Musical” through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. You will be taken through the seven levels of the candy cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, then the Lincoln Tunnel to NYC where Buddy looks for his dad!
On February 21, 2025, three wrestlers from the Wayne Trace Girls Wrestling Team competed at the Girls Sectionals tournament in Findlay. In the tournament, the top four placers of each weight class advance to the Girls District tournament on March 2, 2025.
With a 41-29 win over the Edgerton Bulldogs, the Lady Raiders of Wayne Trace showed what makes them GMC Champions.
