PAULDING, OH: William George Brune was born in Paulding Ohio on Dec 13, 1957 to Hank and Eleanor Brune and parted from this life on October 21, 2024. Middle child of four, he is survived by older sister Coral, younger brother Tom, and sister, Lynda. He was a good student all through school, took piano lessons from Joan Burtch beginning at a young age and was in Paulding Junior high and high school band as a saxophonist. Bill excelled at Baldwin Wallace College and was an accomplished pianist with singing also being a strong talent. He was active as a college school newspaper editor, radio DJ and program director at the college station. He was a very social person around campus graduating in 1980 with a BA in Communications. He earned his Masters degree in Social Work at Case Western Reserve in 1992. His career accomplishments included managing a leather sales store in a Cleveland mall, being a job/career trainer at the Community Action Commission in Defiance, Ohio, the Director of Career Services for 15 years at St Francis College in Ft Wayne, Ind, worked part time on Saturday & evenings under a psychiatrist in Ft Wayne as a LISW doing psychotherapy for many years, and more recently enjoyed being a vocational rehab counselor with the State of Indiana. He served in playing piano for St.Paul’s Lutheran church in Paulding, a pianist for Stepping Up theatre in Ft. Wayne, enjoyed going out to breakfast regularly with friends, being a part of the Paulding Senior Center when able & liked being a Paulding Bargain Bin patron.
He also relished relaxing at his Melrose home & watching TCM movies as a favorite pastime. Bill was a compassionate, knowledgeable, friendly, loyal and fun brother & friend. His siblings had many years with whom to laugh, receive support for ideas and visions, celebrate holidays, birthdays, share trips, and talk about many things. Coral especially shared with him common musical interests, writing, & abilities.
We all will miss Bill and cherish his most touching remembrance as a special brother, friend to many, and a life giving, honorable person in our lifetime. As a Christian, He much loved God and his family and friends.
Funeral service was held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding, with Rev. Clyde Singh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding Township.
Visitation was from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There was a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday at the church.
